Donate for the Colloque in France

APAHA founder Bettina Drummond has received an invitation to a special colloque at the French National Riding School in Saumur, France that explores the traditions and influence of the French system of riding. Bettina has been invited as the leading representative of the French tradition in the U.S.

The event will be held October 18-21 at the home of France’s prestigious Cadre Noir. The first day of the event will involve discussion on the influence and image of the French traditional system of riding abroad. The day will end with musical displays of French riding.

Bettina has been asked to share her knowledge on Saturday and Sunday of the event by teaching écuyers and the Ecuyer en chef of the Cadre Noir.

This invitation presents an opportunity for the ideals and principles of APAHA to be shared with those in France who are involved in educating the next generation of horsemen in that country. A fundraising effort is underway to support Bettina’s travel to participate in this important event.

“I believe there is great value in having an American presence teaching members of the Cadre Noir. This also provides an opportunity to present a report on the few of us that have held on to this style and tradition here in America since the 1950s,” Bettina said.
