APAHA is a nonprofit organization that depends on support from those who believe that horsemanship is much more than merely showing horses in competition. APAHA supports the view that horsemanship can be a unique art form in which horse and human, working together, can create the same harmony and beauty seen in many other forms of art. We work to support those horse owners, riders and trainers who seek to build the relationships with horses that leads to trust, unity of motion, harmony and beauty at any level of riding. Our mission seeks to reflect the vision of our founder, Bettina Drummond, who not only created art alone with her horses, but also explored the merging of the art of riding with that of many other art forms — dance, music, painting, sculpture. APAHA works to encourage other riders to do the same. Through educational programs, performance demonstrations, and by providing a platform for riding artists to display their creations, APAHA seeks to protect and promote horsemanship as an art form now and in the future.
