Come join APAHA at our inaugural educational symposium this Labor Day weekend starting the morning of Friday September 4 and continuing through to Tuesday afternoon September 7. The symposium will explore methods and techniques that promote self-carriage, balance and lightness in horses – the foundations that help make riding an art. This will include exploring the teachings of our founder, Bettina Drummond, and the French system of riding and training that was so much a part of Bettina’s approach.

Olivier Puls, a former member of France’s prestigious Cadre Noir and an expert in long-lining and the French system, will join APAHA as a featured guest to share his knowledge in the art of long-lining and the French system and to share the lessons he learned in his work with Bettina. The symposium will include many demonstrations in the art of long-lining providing those who attend an opportunity to learn about this method from an expert.

Auditors are very welcome and there will be plenty of opportunities for discussion. Cost of auditing is a $25 tax deductible donation to APAHA and includes drinks and snacks. Lunch will also be provided with the auditor fee but for lunch, you must RSVP in advance by sending an email to Lynndee@boscheefarm.com.

The event will be held at two separate locations — at Bon Accord Lusitanos located at 423 Schauber Road in Ballston Lake, NY from Friday morning starting at 10 a.m. through Sunday and at Harken Hollow Farm located at 21 Harken Hollow Road in Hoosick Falls, NY on Monday and Tuesday morning.
